Amanda McCombs is originally from Oregon, but has lived in Utah for quite a long time. Her fondest memories are of her time spent playing in the forest in her backyard, collecting animals and experimenting with paints and art materials. She spent a lot of time at the Oregon coast exploring tide pools and jumping in the waves. As a result she loves to spent as much time exploring outside as much as she can!
She is slightly Disney obsessed and has a hard time saying no to fresh lemonade and Oreos! She loves to cook and bake and eat all kinds of food! She is more than willing to try all kinds of crazy foods at least once in her life.
Amanda is the youngest of 7 children, and has a good number of nieces and nephews that she loves very much! She has two daughters of her own, as well as two step-daughters that were brought into her family when she married a few years ago. They have two dogs and a cat who are equal parts trouble and love.
She graduated from the University of Utah in 2014 with a bachelor degree in Family and Consumer Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and a TESOL certification (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She started a preschool/prekindergarten program at a Catholic school and spent most of her career managing and teaching in preschool/daycare programs. This is her third year teaching first grade at Early Light Academy.
