Amy Bird began her teaching career when she lived in Austin, TX back in 2010 as an educational aide. Originally a Fine Arts (Photography) graduate from the University of Utah, she earned her teaching certificate in 2010 and began teaching kindergarten shortly thereafter. The wide range of student diversity placed in her class has provided her many opportunities to differentiate her teaching style to students’ individual needs. While in Texas, she also earned her Special Education Certificate and English as a Second Language Certificate.
After 7 years in Texas, and missing the seasons and mountains of Utah, she moved back home to the Salt Lake Valley in 2014 with her husband and 6 children. They enjoy spending time together in the mountains, playing sports, reading books, and of course taking lots of photos. After finishing her third year teaching at Early Light Academy she will be joining the administration team. She will be at Early Light Academy as our Assistant Director for the Kindergarten-Fourth Grade.
