Amy Bird began her teaching career when she lived in Austin, TX in 2010 as a kindergarten teacher. The wide range of student diversity in her classes has provided her many opportunities to differentiate her teaching style to students’ individual needs. While in Texas, she earned her Special Education Certificate and English as a Second Language Certificate.
After 7 years in Texas, and missing the seasons and mountains of Utah, she moved back home to the Salt Lake Valley in 2014 with her husband and 6 children. Mrs. Bird taught kindergarten at Early Light Academy for three years prior to joining the administration team. As the K-4 Assistant Director, Mrs. Bird loves working with teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents at ELA to ensure that every student learns and grows. As the Elementary Director she has implemented the Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) and Multi-Tiered Tiered System of Support team (MTSS).
Mrs. Bird's favorite things are spending time with her family. They enjoy road trips, camping, sports, playing games and creating memories.
