Cora Lyons is from Los Alamos, New Mexico. During high school and college she worked as a research assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory. However, science was not her passion and she decided to study Art and Italian and Brigham Young University.
During her time at BYU, Cora was able to participate in both a study abroad in Italy and later an internship at the Santa Maria della Scala art museum in Siena. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education and Italian Studies.
Prior to joining the team at Early Light Academy Cora taught Art, Exploratory Language, and Directed Studies at Hunter Junior High in West Valley City. During her time there Cora became involved in the Athletic Department at ELA and volunteered to coach the Fall 2017 season of girl’s basketball. The team had an undefeated season and took 4th place at State Tournament. Cora is excited to join the ELA staff this year and continue coaching the girl's basketball team.
In her free time Cora enjoys playing basketball, creating photography, going to concerts, and reading.
