Grace Blair wanted to be a teacher from the time she was 5 years old (after giving up her dream of becoming an Olympic gold medalist ice skater). She followed that passion to Idaho State University, where she graduated with honors magna cum laude with her Bachelor's of Elementary Education and an emphasis in English. She spent the last four years teaching 5th grade at a Title 1 school in Provo, UT. Her love of teaching has only strengthened through her time in the classroom. She is passionate about working with students and teachers throughout the state and spent the last year doing presentations across Utah about Trauma-Informed Teaching to large groups of teachers.
Grace was born in Kansas City, MO, but lived in Elko, NV for 16 years before leaving for college. She loves traveling, and has a goal to hit all 50 states within the next few years. So far, she has been to 36.
Outside of the classroom, Grace loves volunteering with children and animals, spending time with her cat, Bluesy, and making people's days better through random acts of kindness. She enjoys improv comedy, carrots, and playing board games with her roommates.
One of her biggest goals is to make learning accessible and fun for all students, and create a safe environment for students to learn and make mistakes. She values peer collaboration and developing her teaching skills each year to become a better teacher for every student that walks into her room.
