Rebecca Groendyke loves life and people! Everyday is an adventure with challenges to overcome and little miracles waiting to happen. Rebecca considers working at Early Light Academy to be one of those little miracles and feels so grateful for the opportunity to associate with such fine people in an educational setting of this nature. Though new to fourth grade, she is not new to Early Light. Rebecca worked part time at the Junior High with amazing students, faculty and staff. She is thrilled to have a full time position and knows that Early Light Academy is the place to be.
Rebecca was reared in Idaho Falls, Idaho with her best friends: one sister and three brothers. Her childhood was one of happiness and imagination. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She enjoyed being a teacher at three very different schools teaching either the third or sixth grade. Rebecca also pursued other dreams and became a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, a hostess for the Marriott Concierge, and a student at Westminster of Salt Lake City, where she earned a Master's Degree in Education.
Rebecca is married to Rick Groendyke and together they have one son, Noah. He is an active eleven year old boy that keeps her young at heart, along with a very large Great Dane named Da Vinci. She finds pleasure in a variety of hobbies including photography, Shutterfly and Smilebox, journaling, blogging, exercising, cheering for Noah, reading, and participating in life. Her strength is being able to see the worth of an individual and having the ability and desire to be an instrument in helping people reach their potential.
